Vanessa Minnillo And TRL May Vanish
With ratings at an all-time low, MTV’s once popular countdown show “TRL†may soon be cancelled and rebranded because no one is watching it.

Recent data from Nielsen media peg TRL’s viewership at 393,000, down from almost 600,000 in 2001.
The rotating cast of veejays who present the live show, which launched in 1998, includes Nick Lachey’s galpal Vanessa Minnillo, Damien Fahey and Susie Castillo. Last Thursday, under-performing MTV president Michael Wolf abruptly left his job, although he said the decision to do so was his.
An MTV rep did not comment.
Well, that explains why VJ Vanessa Minnillo has started to dress like a French tart on the show now [see the eye-popping, nipple-poking, erection-making photographs below]. Anything to get those teenage boys to spend more of their masturbatory time on her show instead of Oprah’s.
Although to be honest, she could have always dressed like that and I’m just oblivious to it because I’ve only seen the show maybe twice. Usually because I’m still trying to sleep off last night’s bender and hate waking up before the sun goes down. [Why our government hasn’t tried to shoot down something so annoyingly bright and cheerful yet, I’ll never know.]
The beauty of this whole story though is that MTV only has itself to blame for losing its audience. After all, if there’s one station out there that has perpetuated short attention spans, it’s them. Ok, them and porn. But at least with porn, you learn a little something. Like why it’s not always best to leave your girlfriend and your dad alone together or why delivering pizzas may just be a better career choice than college.

Please use a dictionary (itself), especially if you’re going to bitch about inane crap such as (which replaces the word, “Like,” by the way– another annoying teenage habit) TRL. MTV’s been a piece of shit since 1992.

Good catch, Mizz Thang. I honestly have no idea how or why I wrote that.
As for the use of “like” in the last sentence, I stand by it as a stylistic choice. In fact, I think it would sound better than “such as” in your sentence too.

MTV really does have itself to blame.
They should actually bring back music shows and cancel every single one of their reality shows that all seem exactly the same to me.
Plus, why have a music video show yet only play 15 seconds of the video then over lap it with fat college girls screaming to their “girls” back in Ohio?

TRL has sucked since Carson left. If MTV really wants TRL to stay on the air, try to get Carson back if that’s possible. I know many people that stopped watching after Carson left. Or maybe it was just the music on MTV started to suck once the multipule VJ’s came.

I agree with JMK, TRL sucked as soon as Carson left. I used to watch TRL religiously, every day after school, 3:30 pm, with one best friend by my side and the other best friend on the phone, also watching. Yes, I was a teenie in my former life. And to Vanessa: It’s called a bra- nobody but Nick wants to see that.
