Jesus Christ, I Love This Show

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip: 1×07 – “Nevada Day Part 1″ [11/6/06]

If you love Jesus and you’re not watching NBC’s “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” every week, then you really need to start. Not only does this Aaron Sorkin-scripted dramedy regularly focus itself on your increasingly belligerent faith, but it does so in a way that will most likely make you angry enough to stroke out.

And while you’re away in your saintly hospital learning how to speak again without sounding like a drunken sailor, me and all my gay buddies will take advantage of your absence by getting married in your church with an aborted fetus as our best man. Hurray for us!

Editor’s Note: Oops, I probably shouldn’t have wrote all that. The jig is surely up now. Sorry Aaron, I didn’t mean to get your show cancelled.

  1. Yeah, I watch this show and laugh at how self-absorbed it is. However, the inside jokes and glimpses at how a tv show really works are makes it worth watching. Yes, Sorkin can rip Christianity all he wants, but it never changes the fact that God set HIS laws and we will all be judged by those laws whether we like them or acknowledge them. Similar to driving and getting nailed for traffic laws we are responsible for knowing, but do not. If God is an ethical judge, he will punish murderers, rapists, child molesters, liars, thieves, adulterers, idoleters, coveters, and all the others on his lists. Mercy from a loving God? Just remember he is just and ethical, he will maintain his standards and criteria. Perhaps YOUR god wouldn’t work this way, but yours is in your mind and the one true God is real.
All is not lost and you can save yourself from eternal punishment through accepting Jesus as your rescuer/savior. He was the sacrifice who can substitute for you and take your punishment that you have earned and deserve. You must also repent and turn from your actions that offend God. You wouldn’t sell one of your eyes for a million bucks so how much more is your soul worth to you? Sure, you can joke all you want and deny God and his laws, but that doesn’t change that reality. To followup more to find answers that refute what you feel are your own valid objections to this go to LivingWaters.com, LeeStrobel.com for proof of bible validity, and Harvest.org.
Even if you don’t believe in Hell, understand that your unbelief doesn’t change its reality. You owe it to yourself to check it out!
