“Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria was taken to the hospital Wednesday after she slipped off the stairs outside her trailer and bruised a few ribs.

The 31-year-old actress will not require any time off for the injury.

It was not the first time Longoria needed to be taken to the hospital from a ‘Housewives’ set. In August 2005 she was hit in the head by a piece of equipment and needed emergency attention. Then, too, she didn’t miss any work.

So, in the course of just one year, Eva Longoria has been injured on the set twice, Teri Hatcher has been injured once, and I’ve wasted approximately twenty grand on the most incompetent assassin imaginable. Damn you, Lou Diamond Philips, I thought you said all those races made you more stealthy, not more stupid.

Editor’s Note: Apparently, Eva was talking to Billy Bush from “Access Hollywood” when she took her little tumble. How do I know this? Because I just read about it on his blog. I also learned that he likes to lay in bed while watching “Dancing with the Stars”, which, ironically enough, is exactly what I don’t like to do. Sorry Billy, but I’m just not sensing this love connection you keep calling me about.
